Ta-ta, I'm off...

After all the frantic writing, designing, checking and printing, out book, Tapas At Maria's has finally come to life. It's a beautiful little thing, we can't wait for you to see it. Advanced copies are already on sale in the restaurant at Picton. The Official launch happens on 28th November 2019 at 6.30pm, at Maria's, can't wait!

So, in between finishing the book and launching the book we've both sneaked off for a break, to catch our breath before starting our next publication. Maria jetted off to Turkey, mainly sampling the Margaritas by the looks of her instagram feed! And I'm here in France, way down south, closer to Spain than Wales.

The food here is very mediterranean, everything is made from olive oil, including the soap! There's a strong Spanish influence in the local restaurants with many Tapas bars (haven't found one to rival At Maria's yet!).

I'm deep in Cote de Rhône territory, happily sampling my way around the surrounding vineyards. The weather is glorious, a barmy 22 today and the seasonal veg, delicious, maybe I could do the book launch for Tapas At Maria's via satellite link....

I've used locally grown tomatoes and garlic to make Pan Con Tomate

And I've mixed up some of the freshly picked mushrooms to make Maria's Champinones al ajillo
